Every one discussing possible pain as the cause, perhaps it's a change it her food.
My rottie mix has eaten the same food since she was a puppy, suddenly she started the heavy rapid breathing, she also wouldn't touch her food, we noticed a change in the odor when opening a new bag.
We thought the manufacture had changed the formula or ingredients,(the company had been bought out by Del Monte)
Vet gave us a med for upset stomach/heartburn, that stopped the rapid breathing.
Changed the food brand and that has helped the appetite.
Like some else said earlier, I'm not a vet, but look at all possibilities.
