I look forward to seeing the test results for crates (when they secure funding for the testing).
airline crates were tested years ago. Henceforth 'airline' crates. To withstand falling off those wild and crazy tarmac luggage drivers. Way back in the 70's I saw an article on the testing. I'd guess the testing was done by the airlines themselves??
Only thing I can say from seeing it was my friend who was hauling dogs to a show and the trailer jack knifed and flipped over and the van flipped over too:
All the crates went flying onto the interstate. All the dogs in airline crates lived, all the dogs in wire crates died mostly from the wires breaking apart and being the cause of death and the dogs that were loose in the van either died on impact or were run over by passing cars. :(:(
My friends DW was ejected from the van and ended up pinned under the trailer still conscious reaching out and grabbing at the loose dogs. God love her when the ambulance got there she still wouldn't let go of the dogs.
I'm still a fan of all dogs ride in airline crates no matter what type of vehicle I am driving. Threw out all my wire crates after the accident.
Still read glad testing was done on the restraints for those that do not have room for a crate. At least they can make better choices choosing a restraint based on the new testing of them. It's a good thing!
