Crazy Lady or Good Puppy Mommy?

DH and I differ on this one. We have a Jack Russell Mix who LOVES her stuffed toys. But, because she's a Jack, she has a tendency to be just a "bit" rough on them! :B I am constantly repairing one of them....bet I average 2 a month. Some are so old (aka--loved) that I repair the repairs! But, every time she rips them up, I take out my needle and thread and perform surgery. DH says that she's "just a dog" and that if we toss them she won't know the difference. But I know better! I have put them in closets while she is outside, and the little devil will search the RV until either she finds it or I get tired of her whining and go get it. Bill says I'm a push-over. I say I'm just being a good Mommy. ? She's smart---knows each by name. Big Kitty, Little Kitty, Ricky (the raccoon), Lucy (the lion). Who's side are YOU on? ;)
  • As the Father of a Parsons Jack I know that those Jacks are of a higher intelligence level than most people that I know... Including myself, and trying to hide anything from them is useless.. Maybe throwing it in the log burner would be the only option!!! T-10
  • My DW did the same thing with toys our "Bear" (1/2 german
shepard and 1/2 Golden Retreiver) loved.
  • Hmmm...since we're anthropomorphising here, allow me to suggest that constantly undoing the work that she as a natural "ratter" has done might mess with her head more than respectfully disposing of "the remains". ;)

Our ratter Millie gets one soft toy at a time, it's always named "baby", and once she's reduced it to a mere rag it goes to Baby Heaven, AKA "in the wood stove".

I think getting its new replacement is about the best thing Millie knows!
