Dental (( Update bottom post))

I took Bud in today for a dental. The last 2 days he did not want his dry food, just ate the canned on top. They are doing a full health profile as well.

I always worry when a Collie does not eat because of having had two with Lymphoma. Bud has never been food driven.

  • I get so stressed when one of the pups isn't feeling well. Glad yours are doing good! Agnes
  • So happy for you that Bud was helped before the infection spread. And congratulations are in order for Lassie for reaching age 14. May you and the collies have a happy, healthy safe new year!

  • Thanks for all the support. I'm so pleased with the vet I will take them some snacks tomorrow. I'm a happy camper. Another milestone for me is Lassie will turn 14 in January. She will be my first Collie to make it to 14. Lassie is in good health as well.
  • Glad you got it fixed so "easily" Sometimes these things aren't apparent without X-Rays. Bud just had his new year's eve a day early.
  • Glad you caught it and it's taken care of now. Hoping Bud feels better soon.
( It is funny to watch them try to walk isn't it )
  • Well Bud Had to have Oral Surgery. Bud had a infected tooth below the gum line.
The infection had caused a lot of bone loss as well. The vet said without the X-ray he didn't know if he would have caught it. He showed me the pictures and the tooth they dug out, not pretty. The tooth above the gum line looked fine. The infection was on one of the two roots on the tooth.

The rest of the comprehensive profile all looked good. They said it would take a few days to heal. They said Bud had to be in pain as well. VERY grateful for the vet. Bud looked like a drunk sailor walking. He's sleeping now. I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
  • I hope he comes home with clean, shiny teeth and a good appetite!
