Just this weekend we were out with our Great Pyrenees, all 125 lbs of him. Much like the Greyhounds, very low energy. Never a problem at the parks we've visited.
He becomes arthritic in the front legs coming down the stairs too many times, got a pet ramp, worked great. At night we drop the dinette, made it into "his" bed.
He startled our neighbors when getting our of the truck, they scooped up their dachshunds real quick. Later in the trip we introduced the dogs, Sherman was polite, let the little ones sniff his paws (most everything else was too high!) and he went back to laying down and kept watch over the park. As a former livestock guard dog, the park was safe, no coyotes would be causing any problems!
