At one of our favorite campgrounds this summer, there is now a $3.00 charge per pet. When we asked about the new fee, since we knew they hadn't charged it before, we were told that they literally had to hire a part timer to pick up after the dogs in the campground. They felt that it was unfair to pass on the cost to all campers. They compromised by just charging pet owners, and felt bad for campers like us, who have pets they care for and pick up after. They have also been more visual, and watch for people not picking up. They give 1 warning and then evict the camper for the 2nd violation. Can't say I blame them. It is so sad that some owners are not acting responsibly. They are going to ruin it for the rest of us.
