I'm far more worried about ticks (Lyme Disease) and mosquitoes (West Nile) and the fungi that lurk unseen. Since I almost never go barefoot - the worst that can happen if I step in poo, is that I have to clean my shoe. Actually, the worst thing I've EVER stepped in is grease - probably off a semi-trailer's hitch - and then I tracked it into our relatively-new motorhome :-(
