Dog missing from accident

My heart goes out to the family. I hope they find their missing dog alive and well. My first and foremost reason for RVing was/is so I dont leave my dogs behind. But the very first change to my van was the addition of a securely lashed down crate for each dog that would prevent them becoming projectiles, protect them from falling or flying objects in case of sudden stops or accidents. I have had "stuff" come lose and fall during hard cornering but my dogs were all safe inside their metal cages. I dont know if their dogs were crated nor how violent the rollover was that could have released the dogs. But I hope that everyone who travels with animal "family" would somehow find a way to protect them.
