Goldens are a great pet, except they are considered a large breed. They also require lots of exercise daily, and have lots of hair. But, if that is your leaning, think of a Lab/Lab mix instead. Some areas of the country rescue shelters will have lots of great mix breeds available for adoption for far less than a puppy mill dog.
