18 months ago my wife called me from Walmart and said she is sending me a picture. When I looked at the picture I swore it was a baby black bear, it was one puppy in a liter of five someone was giving away. I told her to get the male, usually calmer by nature.
Turns out to be the best god we've ever had. Per the vet he is a chow Rottweiler mix. Super intelligent, very loving and is just a big baby all 105/lbs of him. He's a hit at the campgrounds as well, everyone wants to know what he is.
Don't rule out mixed breeds, local pounds or humane society, even the local Walmar parking lot. Look at them all and you will find the perfect dog.
