Your post brought two thoughts immediately to my mind:
- Our older dog, Gretchen, physically can't walk long distances anymore. She often cannot make it to the "dog area". For the last couple of years, she has decided that the middle of the road is just good as anywhere else to take a dump. Yes, one certainly feels "conspicuous" picking up poop in the middle of the road.
- Then, an inspiration hit me! Like in many residential neighborhoods, why don't the campgrounds specify that the first three or four feet from the road is "common ground", not part of any campsite! That way, if pooping occurs in that DMZ, it would not be on the "campsite"! :)
Why can't Gretchen hang around your space and poop there?
We always let our boxers do their business on our lot, or made sure they could make it to the dog park.
