Dogs left in RVs

Years ago my wife and I camped along the East coast in a Class A. We left our dog at home because one of our kids was still living there and cared for the dog. Now the kids are gone and we have two dogs (standard poodles). We would like to start camping again but will have to take the dogs. For various reasons, I am thinking about buying a Class B. My only concern is leaving the dogs in the Class B (with generator and air conditioning running) when parked for shopping or dining out. Has anyone had law enforcement problems leaving dogs in their RV in public parking areas?

Thanks.
  • We leave our generator on along with the air conditioning running for our dogs when we're at a restaurant or sightseeing. Never had a problem with it. If I didn't have dogs I probably still have the air on. My husband figures if you don't use your generator you're going to have nothing but problems with it. At home once a month he runs both generators on full load, the Honda 2000 and the generator in the motorhome.
