Here's what I did for a middle-of-the-night potty call at our condo (basically, the same rules as an RV Park): I put the dogs on a retractable leash and let them out while I stood in jammies/robe on the dark porch. Mentally marked where to find the poo (on my "site" - nobody was going to step in it except me) first thing in the AM. IMO, if they needed more than 10 feet or so to find a "proper" spot - then they didn't need to go out that badly ;-)
