By the way, the other dog was a stray that wandered into our yard. We are rural, so it's fairly common for dogs to get dumped out here. We're about 1/2 mile from the road so they usually don't show up in the yard. The stray is now trapped in my porch where she is being fed and cared for. She has no tags or chip. She is a nice dog, very friendly towards humans but definitly NOT towards other dogs. I am working to find her a home. I supposed I'll have to have her vetted first, but it won't be at Banfield! I will probably just drive her the 80 miles to our old vet in the city.
Holy cow, Julie, you are a saint! You have to wonder if that dog's hair trigger isn't the reason she was dumped. With both you and Annie ending up with scars, rehoming the stray sounds pretty scary.
