extra place at the taable.

While we were eating supper, Dahkota came in, under the table and stuck his nose right in my belly button and lifted up two or three time rapidly.
I spewed my food all over the end of the table. It tickled a lot.
When he does come in and insisting on food he usually puts his nose under my elbow and flips it up.
Might as well set a place for him. Don't think wife would go for that so have to start making extra and put in his dish.
I've noticed around meal time he has already eaten his dog food and will come in toward the table or lay in the edge of the dining room and pace to his dish looking back at us.
Sometimes he just has to have something to eat and he sneaks up under my elbow and flips it. Won't bother my wife though.

So that's where Cody, our Golden disappears. Must be having dinner with you too. He does the same thing, especially the elbow flip at the table! Many a time a fork full of food missed my mouth. :B
  • OMG, I can't stop laughing! Beats the pile of bloodhound drool we'd get from Toby!
  • Dahkota will come in handy if you ever need the Hemlich maneuver LOL
  • Dahkota is smart enough to know who will feed him, and who will insist on his waiting until the rest have eaten dinner.

I like how he will pace back and forth towards the food dish, and give those sad eye looks back at you, my sister's dog would give those sad "I have not been fed in forever" looks too - even after eating a whole bowl of food. . . .

Great memories of my dogs, thanks for your story. As I write this my dog is coming over to see how much of the left over pizza that I heated up will be hers. . . She only got two bites of the crust. ..
