Actually, the Americans with Disabilities Act allows for the questioning of the person with the service dog. The person can be asked what specific service the dog provides to the person, but cannot ask what ailments the person has. Note that dogs, or any animal for that matter, that provides emotional support to the person is not considered a service animal and is not allowed access. Generally, the animal must perform a task the person cannot due him or herself.
