How big of a problem is this? I rarely see service dogs anywhere for anyone.
Are you sure?
As a former Health inspector I can tell you that animals are NOT typically allowed in Food Service establishments, and that includes grocery stores, restaurants, and anyplace else food for humans is sold/prepared.
And yet: I now see dogs, cats, and even BIRDS accompanying folks just about every time I go to the grocery store. Worse, in my opinion, two of the last four times I was eating in a restaurant, people with pets were seated nearby...after I was already eating, I'll add. If such nonsense is being tolerated when I arrive at a restaurant, I simply go someplace else.
As for those fake "vests"- puh-leeze. It's rare in my experience to see these animals wearing any kind of ID, genuine or fake. But business owners are so terrorized by "activists" in this regard that they don't challenge anyone that just sails in with their "helper" in tow.
