Found a nice RVpark and dog walking trail in Door County

We are at Hy-Land Court RV park in Ellison Bay, Wisconsin. It's very nice, with large sites. Plus, the WIFI actually works!:C There is a huge, grassy field right next to our site, D11, which the manager said we could run our dogs in if we wanted to. Thank goodness for that, as Inga needs all the frisbee exercise we can give her. As we all know, a tired dog is a good dog.:W

The walking/hiking trail is at Ellison Bluff County Park, which is close by. It's a 1.2 mile loop, and winds through the North woods close to Lake Michigan. The path is crushed limestone, and very easy to walk, both for dogs and people. The Fall colors are coming in, and in a week or so should be spectacular.

  • Sue and I went to Ellison Bay, Wisconsin some time back, can't remember when but it was nice. Sue's brother Ted lived in Lakewood Wisconsin which isn't far from there. what beautiful country.
  • Finally, for all those anxiously awaiting the pics of Hy-Land Court RV Park, here is a Photobucket album containing them:

Pics in and around our site, D11

It's hard to convey in pics, but the grassy field next to our site is probably, in area, about the size of two football fields. We don't know much about football in STL anymore, since we are the home of the Rams, but I think that's about right . . . .

  • Hey Walter, we drove in from Freson last night is the reason for this delayed response. Love to see your photos when you get the chance!

Yes sir! ASAP sir! As soon as we get home at least, which is tomorrow. Right now we are at a PPA park in Utica, Illinois. Hickory Hollow is the name of it. It is pretty rooty tooty for a PPA park, that's for sure! Nice! I would recommend it!:C
  • Thanks for the info! We've not been to Door Cty yet, so will put this on our list of future trips. Always looking for places that are more dog friendly.
  • We enjoy Door County and stay in Baileys Harbor at Baileys Grove. Will have to check into that one.
  • So glad you recommended this campground - getting ready to get back into RVing in the spring, and love Door County! That will be one of our first trips!
  • Sounds wonderful Walter! I love Fall and everything it brings. Having a great place to enjoy the cooler temperatures and foliage is extra special.

I hope Gretchen is feeling good, it sounds like she enjoyed this trip. :)
