I don't know whether I could say this was for our Peadinker but it sure was a tear jerker and it was for us and him. Back about 8 years ago the DW and I got a new boston terrier puppy. We had him for about 5 months which would have put him about 8 months when we lost him. I had him out in our fenced in back yard for a potty break, I was out with him of course as he was pretty small yet. Anyway I got a phone call and stepped in for literally a few minutes and come back to find him severely injured by a badger.
I gathered him up in my arms and made a flying trip to our vet's office. He was clinging for his life the whole way. Peadinker was a fighter and he survived an additional 30 hours after the attack but just couldn't make it, his internal injuries were just too much. Anyway when our vet called to give us the very sad news the next day it was just devasting for both the DW and I. Our vet recommended that we have him cremated and his ashes taken to a very beautiful pet cemetery in our area. We of course agreed. He told us not to worry about anything and he would just send us a bill later. We did and do trust him 1000%.
Keep in mind he required several stitches, surgery and in the vet hospital for about 30 plus hours even though it didn't save his life. A couple weeks later we get the bill from the vet for all his services and having him cremated. It was a complete itemized statement and the balance due for all services was $0. I don't know whether we cried harder for what the vet done for us or loosing our little Peadinker.
