How long before it passes?

Those pads are made to stay together and I can't remember ever seeing one (in normal usage) that started to come apart. I'll bet it comes out intact. Sometimes you hear the suggestion to feed a couple slices of bread to help push things along, but let's ask Dr Doug if that actually helps.

A couple of weeks ago, I did three exploratory surgeries in two days, cat - baby bottle nipple, dog- bouncy ball, dog - string from roast. Is there something in the water???

I believe the time, not without some sort of symptom, like vomiting, weight loss, lack of appetite...

we had to stop putting tinsel on the Christmas tree as our dobie loved eating it...nothing like having to " assist " with the passing of the tinsel the next day !

I wouldn't panic. My dogs have gobbled that stuff up more than once when their humans failed to close the garage door.

You really haven't lived until you have had to pull a sock out of you dog's butt at a rest stop.

Oh, heavens..... I wouldn't feed one to a dog on purpose but seriously that would be much less likely to cause problems than.... Well, than half a million things my dogs have eaten and passed without incident over the years. Keep an eye out for any signs of trouble, but don't stress over it.

She ate it right before dinner, so it's been over an hr. We'll keep an eye on her tonight and call the vets in the AM to see what they say. Thanks!

Hold off on that peroxide!! Had a doxie swallow a nylon stocking one time. The vet said if it was LESS than ONE HOUR, we could induce vomitting, but after that it was too late. I would call the vet. It may just pass through, but it could get twisted up in the intestines.

Our one dog got a piece of corn cob out of the trash one time. I had to watch to make sure she was going and not blocked up. I was outside at night with a flashlight watching her go. I felt like a freak, but you do what you gotta do.
