We have a Hotspot, a Nestcam, a thermometer, and a smart phone. We leave the dog and Hotspot with the Nestcam aimed at the thermometer. We check every 15-20 minutes on the smart phone. We can see and hear the temp and what the dog is doing. Winter time or cooler periods this is not necessary.
