Before we started down our Cavalier rescue efforts we adopted Collies. The very first full Collie we had came from a County Shelter. Both my wife and I were working the day "Laddie" came up for adoption, so Mom and Dad(RIP) came over and said they would pick up this 5-6 month old Collie. My Mom had her lap all ready for a puppy but as you know, a 6 month old Collie is not necessarily a lap dog even though in later years, he was my Lap doggie!
Just a funny story from some 40 years ago, but a good memory!
