Good luck!
Hope you experience with the rescue is worthwhile and the process is short.
Since Sugars passing last year we have been looking/attempting to adopt another Border Collie via a 'rescue' organization here in AZ
But we have found we are not 'clickish' enough, not 'in the group'---not been a pleasant experience.
Hard to find a Border Collie....even a MIX at any 'animal shelters'----the 'rescue' swoops in and snatches them up. Then UP Charges
It's a real racket.
But we keep looking.
Hope you acquire your new 'friend' w/o conflict.
They are such good companions!
Sorry your experience hasn't been positive. We work with the Weimaraner Rescue here locally. All rescues are run by volunteers that try to have the best interest of the dog in mind. Speaking from experience, at times it can seem pretty thankless.
I am not saying it is the case with you, but most of the rescues are trying to weed out a scenario where it is a bad fit, and the dog ends up back in rescue.
My advice is to be a little patient, and maybe try to even get involved with the rescue yourself. Go to a fundraiser, attend a meet-and-greet, etc. Maybe that will improve your outcome.
