As you know Mikko passed a relatively short time ago. Scanning the Collie rescue site I found a Collie up for adoption. I made the first inquiry today, well see how it goes.Well it looks like I have a new Collie pup, 9 weeks old. Sawyer is his name. Sawyer was diagnosed with Collie eye and was a surrender. We're in the process of working out logistics of transportation.

Wish you luck. It sure is nice having a fur baby in the house. Our house has been empty since we lost Bliss a year ago. It's been almost a year since the wife stopped sneezing, found out she was allergic to the fur. She doesn't care, she wants another German Shepard just like Bliss.

When I was young we always had a German Shepherd that went everywhere that was a part of our family.

Good luck with your adoption. We recently took in a feral cat.Our Chihuahua isn't thrilled but, is slowly adapting.

Rescue is a great way to go. We have had 5 Weimaraners we got through the rescue. Great to give the dogs as second chance.

Good luck!Hope you experience with the rescue is worthwhile and the process is short.Since Sugars passing last year we have been looking/attempting to adopt another Border Collie via a 'rescue' organization here in AZBut we have found we are not 'clickish' enough, not 'in the group'---not been a pleasant experience.Hard to find a Border Collie....even a MIX at any 'animal shelters'----the 'rescue' swoops in and snatches them up. Then UP ChargesIt's a real racket.But we keep looking.Hope you acquire your new 'friend' w/o conflict.They are such good companions!

I understand completely, I can't imagine not having a dog around. German Shepherds are such loyal family dogs. When I was young we always had a German Shepherd that went everywhere that was a part of our family.
