I am at my wits end on trying to give meds

My last spaniel had to be the worse on taking pills. He was also on the same meds and Vetmedin. I ended up cutting the Enapril into fourths, put bottle in freezer
And would put his dosage in cottage cheese. That worked for awhile. Tried grinding the Vetmedin, added a very small amount of water and a drop of honey or syrup. Then put that in a syringe after mixing it with food gave out. Worked for a while. The cheese, peanut butter, pill pockets.. no go.
You get what you can get into them and hope for the best. I found parts of pills constantly.
