Pill pockets come in a cat size. And yes, you can use part of a pocket and just mush it around the pill.
To grind pills, you don't need a grinder. Just put a drop of water or small bit of any kind of tasty moist food on the pill, let it sit for a minute, then mush the now-soft pill with the back of a spoon. Mix into a SMALL amount of food (like one human bite), and make sure dog eats all that before you give her the rest of her food. If she does not lick the bowl, add a little more food and mix it in.
For cats, use tuna or sardines. I don't know what dogs like, but the stronger the flavor the better, to cover up pill flavors. Sausage?
Consider the possibility that she does not like the pill because it makes her nauseous or has other side effects. Does she show any signs? Ask vet if it could be the problem.
