Yes when we adopted in 2014 we adopted from the Iredell County Humane Society. The app was 3 pages long. They checked all out, called and we made arrangements to see the dog we applied for. Now this humane society only does once every 2 months going to a location and seeing the dogs they have.
The other rescue is small peanuts rescue in Matthews,NC. Have talked with the lady many times - great lady and doing so much for rescue but she will not hold a pet.
When I look on adopt a pet/ pet finder adoption, etc if I cannot find a true website for the rescue/organization I do not give it the time a day. Most will not have a phone # since most pets are in foster homes.
