I don't have a hamster . . . . .

Go to a Pet Shop and buy food especially for Hamsters. They need certain vitamins you can put in their water, certain foods, and wood toys (non-toxic) to keep their teeth filed. Ask if any of the clerks are knowledgeable about Hamsters.

P.S. They make great pets and are very clean.
