Izzys pacemaker surgery
has been booked ...her preop is Feb 11 and then sx on Feb 12th...her heart rate is way too slow...averaging around 40 to 50 BPM with lots of periods of asystole...at this point the asystole is up to 7...

She is 5 1/2 yrs old...she was asymptomatic until November/12...its really eye opening how much more tired she is since her surgery and arrests in October/13 ..the cardiologist feels we will be adding 3 to 10 yrs onto her life span...our vet was thinking about trying some theophylline but the cardiologist was adamant about no meds...I was reading about how they are now using AICD's for dogs, this was not mentioned to me, probably because of the cost or maybe its related to her size...pacemakers are pricey enough, I told Izzy its lucky she is such a cute little munchkin LOL
Cute is an understatement! She is precious indeed. My gosh she is still so very young to have all these health problems but so very lucky to have such awesome parents. Give her a big hug from myself, the DW and our 5 Boston's back in MO. We are definetely praying for her.
