Jake Update-Good News!

Meant to post much earlier but it's been a bit hectic today. Second laryngoscopy showed no paralysis in Jake's vocal cords. He has a minor to moderate elongated soft palate, but nothing that will require intervention. As far as the swelling in his throat, the surgeon couldn't see any abnormalities so he feels that somehow Jake injured his neck/throat area. The swelling went down immediately with steroids. Course of action at this point is just monitoring him to make sure he doesn't develop any issues, walk him on a harness rather than a collar (which we already bought), and limit his activity in hot, humid weather (he self-limits!). So, no surgery-yippee! Thank you to everyone who sent thoughts and prayers!
