Licking/kissing your dog

Ive had pets all my life. Most have liked/kissed me.

I currently have five Chiahauhs, all luck, kiss, and I've given each more than a few bites off my fork.

Still alive and well. Hey maybe its a covid prevention method?

Many dogs will eat poop of other animals if you allow them to. Sounds like the farm dogs get to feast all the time. We had a couple of dachshunds previously (deceased, old age now) but they were so long that they couldn't reach their butt! LOL

I agree. Allowing your dog to put their tongue near your mouth is similar to allowing a proctologist make you a sandwich, after he's done doing ungloved exams.

Yep, I'll pass on licking them too, but kisses for me - anytime. Anyone who knows their dogs knows that the kisses are an I love you or a thank you, and not a sign of a domination attempt at all.

Remember that next time someone comes out of the bathroom w/o washing their hands, picks their nose or their teeth, touches all the things that we do, not to mention their private lives. We just don't like to think that we are, as a higher species, capable of those things.

And billions of people live their lives without ever knowing.

I think you about summed it up very well.....Dogs just happen to do their so called "dirty" deeds in public where as the rest of us(most of us) do pretty much the same in private. Think about it! :-) LOL

I just reread the title to this thread, and yes I kiss my dogs (on the forehead, or muzzle). But I don't lick them, too much fur to lick them! ... :S
