maximum # of pets

Any recommendations on CG that only allow large dogs, banning small yappers, or say anything under 50lbs?

Our town even has a limit on the number of dogs you can have in your house within the city limits.
Up to 3 dogs or 3 cats or any combination thereof.

No limit last year MAY be the reason they NOW have limits.....

Past experiences are great tools for learning.

Could be they just have had too many complaints, too many issues etc. and instead of going completely 'NO PETS' they are now 2 pet limit to see if it works.


Could ALSO be Ins. came up for renewal and Underwriters told CGs that it will be a much higher premium for 'No Limits vs 2 Pet Limit'

OP here. Sorry, I did not see that post. Great info there. So now the only thing that irks me is the campgrounds that had no limit last year, now have a 2 dog limit.

Quite possibly there are liability issues as many parks have breed restrictions, etc. imposed by there insurance carrier. Just remember if by chance an issue arises you could be held liable. Remember it's there park and there rules, be a responsible camper and abide by them.

The breed/size I can understand, and that is sometimes based on insurance regulations. It;s the campgrounds that, just last year, had no limits. Now they have limits.

Don't advertise how many dogs you have, and if possible try not to exercise them all at the same time. If asked, all you need to say is "yes, we have dogs" and unless asked, don't say how many. We had to travel for a few years with our two bigger dogs, and one small poodle that we had to inherite. We did not, and will not stay in Virginia state parks where they charge $5 per day per dog, and let all the kids that trash everything they get close to, in free. That said, we have worked with and traveled with dogs, and kids for many years, and fully understand the whys for regulations against dogs and pets. Don't particularly like it, but do understand. What a few folks do can really make things difficult for Many others.
