Mikko is having a rough time ( God speed Mikko)

Mikko a Collie I adopted at 3.5 who will be 14 on 3-25-19. He has been having issues with his back legs for about two years. So far I been able to keep him mobile with medication. Today he can barely walk. I don't know if my younger Collie Cooper injured him or just natural progression. I will take him to the vet tomorrow to see if anything else can be done and give him a few days to see if it gets any better. On top of that I have to go in Thursday for a consultantion for gallbladder surgery.

I know the day is coming rapidly when I have to make the decision and it sucks.

    I know it’s tough but one must remember it’s our job to not let them suffer too long.

    Our 14 year old lab is losing the use of her back legs and is on Metacam tablets every other day to help her. Some days she can barely walk, but those are days when the weather is good and she spends most of the day outside and runs a lot. I've learned to give her a tablet that night before bed. She is still stiff, but a little more mobile. Yes, the day will come when she can't move at all. It happened with our 90 lb Draathar. We started sleeping downstairs with him till he could barely move. I dread that day with Maggie.
