Involve the proper authorities. Pick up the phone and call.
Call twice, call 3X, meet them at the property.
Releasing that dog accomplishes NOTHING.
Just places the dog in jeopardy.....
It runs off, frightened/scared, gets lost, starves.....animal control picks it up---no tags/holds it---no one claims it (pit-bull)so it is euthanized
