Monitoring Temp in MH

What is the most reliable and easiest to set up in the gadgets that monitor MH temp and notify your smart phone? We recently had to upgrade from our old flip phones to a smart phone and we can now monitor the MH.

Always worried about that and did not go far from or very long when it was hot out, with the dogs in the Mh,

I know there were several threads on this a long time ago. I thought the recommendations might have changed since they are constantly upgrading all the gadgets available out there.

THanks in advance.

  • I use the "Dog Monitor" app which works on iphone and android. My android tablet has wireless data service. I launch the app on the tablet and select Dog Station and set a digital thermometer in the video view with the dog in the kennel in the back ground. I can monitor the temperature and dog from my iphone by launching the app and selecting "Person Station" while we are gone.
  • Why leave the dogs behind? In my relatively short 35,000 miles of rv'ing experience, I've never once traveled somewhere my dog couldn't join me.

If someplace doesn't accept dogs, they don't get my business.

It hasn't happened yet, but I'd find a doggie daycare or climate controlled kennel for him before leaving him locked up in the coach.

What do you use for the video camera IN the MH. Is it wireless or need to plug in, brand name and cost?? Thank you.

On edit: never mind!! I see it uses to phones. But doen't that mean that on has to be on using streaming data the whole time?

Believe me if its over 100 degrees outside and if your electricity goes out it heats up fast inside an RV in a matter of minutes. I don't put my dog in a kennel when I'm using the RV parks pool or if I have a beach site. I don't take my dog to the store or short trips with me unless its cool outside. My dog is better off in the motorhome with 2 air conditioners running.
I'll probably buy The MarCELL Cellular Connected Monitoring System before our next trip to the desert.
  • Some cool (no pun intended) systems to look at on this site. I have used their products for years. Had a A/C failure in a car once and it worked great. Windows went down automatically, window fan activated and it alerted me.

  • Thanks for the input. WE keep our dogs with us as much as possible. But I would feel better with an alert system when we do our beach trips.
ONe of our boys has some health issues, and he is just better off in the coach with the a/c on, than he would be in a kennel.

Everyone's dogs are different, and as much as we all love them, I know we all do what we think is best for our particular dogs. The same thing doesn't work for all dogs.

    Thanks again for the input.
