I can't imagine that a dog bite-from ANY breed- would go unreported. Surly everyone knows how dangerous a bite from any animal is. I agree a bite from a pit bull may get more attention, but I seriously doubt someone wouldn't report a bite because it was from a gentle breed.
Many insurance companies won't insure you, or may charge you extra for liability insurance if you own certain breeds. They do not base rates on media hype, they are carefully based on statistics.
Look, I know some love their pit bulls and other perceived dangerous breeds and never have a problem with them. However, there is no place for them in a campground. Why should someone pay for a camp site to feel threatened? That goes for the yappy ones too (maybe even more so, in my opinion).
