Are you British? Here they are always known as German Shepherd Dogs, or GSDs. They do appear on some banned lists, including some property insurance companies. They are typically not part of BSLs, however, which tend to concentrate on pit-bull type dogs.
PDX is not yet a part of the British empire as far as I know. But I have been away from the news for a while so things may have changed.
The OP seemed to have gotten into a tiff about his GSD being somebody,s list. That is why I mentioned the alternative name.
Or you could always try the "it's clearly a Labrador" strategy. Works for me every time...
