Animals have exceptional smell capability and recognize and react to senses we usually suppress or don't recognize.
Our cat basically won't let you touch her except to rub her head with your foot.
A few years ago, at our last home she got on the bed and up in my face licking it. I awoke with a start and severe headache. I normally wear a cpap or try to.
I apparently quit breathing.
