Naming your pet.
For the first time ever in a long series of pets, I don't know what to name my new dog.
I recently inherited a Chihuahua puppy from an irresponsible daughter. I put down my lab last summer and now own a chihuahua. I think it weighs as much as one of my labs paws. Strange creature.
I've gone through about 4 names so far based on personality or appearance: Guerro, Nacho, Cujo, Bug. He's 8 months old now, I think, so I'm guessing I should probably settle on a name soon.
Odd thing is, a couple of nights back I called him Sam. I had a dog named Samantha some years ago. For the first time he responded to a name. I didn't use the name for a couple of days and just now called him Sam and another response. Normally he doesn't stop what he's doing or come over in response to the other names, but with Sam he either stops and listens or actually comes over. I may have actually stumble across his final name. Have to run it past my wife.
