Neat feature on Tesla

I was reading a article on the most pet friendly vehicle's. On Tesla they have a feature that keeps the A/C on for your pet and displays the temperature in the car. My last trip to Texas during the heat my truck was never shut off from the time I left Kansas until I got back in order to run the A/C.

Fortunately my truck with manual transmission idles at 900 rpm instead of the standard 550 rpm. This keeps the interior nice and cool when parked.

I never leave them alone for more then a few minutes unattended.

    Thanks for the picture's Reisender.

You are welcome. Probably a little small for the collies. Great for our Chihuahua. :)
  • Be happy to. Here ya go. But just a heads up. If I was transporting kids, Collies, Antelopes, bean bags or whatever, I would be looking at the sister car of the Tesla model 3, The Tesla model Y. It is essentially the same car in SUV or CUV (whatever they call them) format. Somrthing like 4 or 6 inches more headroom, higher off the ground, easier to get in and out, and here is the big one, ITS A HATCHBACK. :) Still just as fast etc and still super low maintenance and of course super cheap to drive. All model Y's are all wheel drive.

But as per your request, here are a few pictures. The model 3 is a premium sports sedan. We love it, super fast, looks great etc, but its a sedan...with a trunk... :)

Here ya go. Sorry for the crappy pics. I backed it out of the garage so it would be a little easier to see but the sun makes it hard to take inside pics.

    Outside

Back seat down. You can see through to the trunk which is open.

    Looking from the trunk forward.

    Back seat and console up.

Better day time shot of the monitor. The model Y has the same interiour...but higher seating and higher head room.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Better info is available on Tesla.com and prices for your country as well. (we are in Canada)

Here is a link to the Tesla.com site. Hopefully the American site comes up for you.

Uts actually kinda cool. We also use it if one person just runs into the store and the other hangs out in the car etc. My wife is um "sort of" amused when I do it, but happy to be cool (or warm). It also has camp mode which does the same thing but also keep the entertainment centre active so you can watch net flix as well as keeping all the USB ports active. Great for the car campers. The back seats fold almost flat and with a thin foam mattress its quite comfortable up to about 6 feet.

This is the display in Dog mode. It was dark in the garage when I took it so I'll include a shot in the daytime. It is easier for passersby to see so they don't freak. This is a model 3 but the SUV's and model S have the features as well.

could you send a picture of your back seat area folded down? Wonder if there is enough flat area for the Collies?

well, it ain't a Tesla but it's a lot more fun. and Maggie The Wonder Beagle loves it. passersny don't freak out, either. at least not from the pooch being locked inside.

And nobody screws with the Jeep. :)

    Great pic.
Your jeep and my truck have something in common. Manual transmission and according to what I have read most car thieves are unable to drive a manual transmission. Never thought a manual transmission would be a theft deterrent.

    Be careful with your pets.
That is a concern, I lock my truck and use another set of keys to open it up. There are some aftermarket remote start systems that don't allow the engine to run if you try to put it into gear. I also don't let the vehicle out of my site along with situational awareness.
