You're not "wacko" and she seems to be able to clearly communicate with you. Maybe you should tell her that you don't know where she lived - and she'll have to stay with you now. Forever. Maybe she's just wondering when she's going to be looking for the next home?? My daughter adopted a Chow/Golden mix, and it took him a LONG time to accept them as "his" family.
