New Kitty At Our House Tomorrow!

We have been wrestling with the idea of adopting another cat since our Missy crossed the Rainbow Bridge two years ago. We have Junior, who will be 13 this year. We sponsor a cat at a local shelter, but she is the feline equivalent of a Flying Wallenda, so not suitable for motor home travel or adoption at this point. Today we spent the entire day looking for an adoptable/adaptable cat, and we found her! She is three years old and lived with her human mom and five other cats. A local shelter took all the cats when the lady passed away. The cat is calm, friendly, and just melts when she is picked up. We agreed to adopt her, and will do the paperwork tomorrow and bring her home. We believe she will fit right in and make a good RV traveler. She is named Lucia, but that will be Lucy after tomorrow. Room for one more in the shelter now!

  • Thank you and God bless you for adopting! Word to the wise: even our calm cats sometimes went bonkers when in the rig because of travel motion: cats have sensitive vestibular systems. Keep her contained for the first few trips at least to let her become accustomed.

Congrats to you and your new cat. As described, she sounds purrfect!
  • God less all rescuers. Congratulations on choosing a homeless kitty. I'm sure she will give you years of enjoyment and companionship.
