Considering at last check it was a federal offense to shoot a bird of prey, I certainly would find another solution. Not feeding your animals outside is a start. Please remember you have moved into the wildlife's world, not vice-versa. Check with your local hardware or grain store. There are many critter repellants on the market that are not harmful to the environment or animals but do keep them away.
