Your vet is correct if you love your dog as many of us do. In 60 years I have had three dogs that I have had to put down. It was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made. But when the dog is in pain, not eating well and the vet confirms there is no hope is the time to do what is best for the dog. A dog that makes 17 years has had a very good caring family.
