Royal Canin SO Urinary food-shiny?

The boys are now doing fairly well on their new food (in title). The first bag looked pretty normal. The second bag is different-food is a bit shiny and a bit greasy feeling. They've eaten it with no issue (hubby did the first couple of feedings and then mentioned it) a few times. I'm thinking it's just variations in the process but anyone have any thoughts? It hasn't been frozen or anything of that nature. Thanks!
  • Storage, transportation and formulation changes (due to available ingredients) are all possible causes. I'd keep track of batch identifications in case there are any issues. Generally I've found there are minor differences from bag to bag or can to can that don't really cause issues.

Had a similar conversation with my vet, and he said pretty much what dturm said. Only in my vets case the owner's dogs wouldn't eat the food, so he took it back and he returned it to the manufacturer.

Definitely if they don't eat it, take it back. Trust their nose :).
  • Thanks all! If they wouldn't eat it undoubtedly it would go back but they don't seem to be having any issue. Both are temperamental eaters at times and they are eating just fine.
