A nice example of a Village Dog.
Veterinarians are people too, with a range of personalities a quirks just like the rest of us. They don't all come out of the Vet School Factory exactly the same. If you didn't like this one, find another. The one you keep should be your partner in maintaining the best quality of life and health for your dogs.
Thanks so much for that link to the Natl Geographic article. That is exactly Jake. And these Village dogs live in big cities, the countryside and in remote areas.
Jake has a definitely different personality than any Dog I have had or known. And we have often remarked that he is closer to a Coyote of wolf than to other dogs.
He is a great Dog. Fiercely loyal and protective of his people and abode and any adjacent area, hardy and strong way way beyond his size. Very smart and cannot abide any creature like a mouse, rat or lizard in his house (or trailer)
He can run more than 40 miles and hour for long distances. I know because he has chased my car one time in Asia and actually passed me when I was doing 40. Thats when I saw him and stopped.
He gets alot of attention from people wondering what kind of dog he is, but he does not make friends easily. He has to take you on his terms.
