My wife had a retired racing Greyhound that was trained as a therapy dog . She went to Hospice once per week. One time our Greyhound went to the patient, and placed her head under the man's hand. He started cooing and talking to her.
The family in the room broke out crying. My wife asked what was wrong? Did the dog do something wrong?
No, the family replied. This was the first time the patient has talked to anyone in months. He broke his silence.
Dog help heal even when they are not yours.
