17 dogs died at Green acre boarding house in Phoenix AZ from heat exhaustion.

One look at the picture that shows the size of the 'window a/c unit' tells you something about what type of boarding kennel this was. I know I would not leave my dog at a kennel that was cooled by that small air conditioning window unit that housed that many dogs.

That size unit when working would not keep '17' dogs safely cooled. :(

Very sad for the owners indeed.

    Ditto.

  • We had the same thing up here recently.
Seven dogs died of heatstroke in a dog minder's truck. She claimed they were stolen, but their bodies were found later on in a creek.

    Very sad!!!!
  • They lied and said the dogs ran away. I wonder how long they really went without A/C, not what they said. Owners were in FL with the adult children watching the place.

    It was the dogs fault.......

Yep. The lab belonging to the kennel's owners was among the fatalities. Still very tragic.
