Our cat has traveled with us full time for 5 years. While driving he is crated in the truck. He is never in the rig when the slides move. He has a tag with our cell and our daughters cell (in case we are somewhere with no signal).
We have a sign at the door with his picture that states "kitty inside" with our phone number for emergencies.
He goes out on a harness but only when we are out there. I also never let him actually walk out the door on his own 4 legs. we always carry him, so he doesn't start to think its ok to just walk ouside whenever he wants.
