Two of my Cockatiels

Here are Miss Punkin' Pie and her mate Walter Pigeon-Toe, the parents of my other four cockatiels. My plans are to start traveling with them in January 2014.

  • No babies! In fact, when they lay eggs, I boil the eggs and give them back "denatured." Taking them away just leads to more egg laying, I've found. They enjoy sitting on the eggs, though.
  • Those are gorgeous birds, but are those rascals just going to keep turning out more kids? 'cause if you hand raise the chicks, it could be a little distracting on the road. :W
  • Funny, Hershey! Sorry I didn't get back sooner to tell you so. Teach me to be more specific, will you?!

Thanks, NGreen. That's reassuring. Another month has passed, and I'm getting anxious.
  • I travel with my Cockatiel, he has a cage in the rv and one at home, in between he is in a little plastic see through box.
  • I guess what your wanting to know if you can travel with them without an aux braking system? No way. Parakeets are tow-able but cockatiels have to be trailer-ed. Try this, put Pigeon Towed in a small cage with small wheels and a blue ox tow bar. You won't need an aux braking system for this one. Pumpkin Pie will not tow well. You may have to FedX the critter to each destination. You can get next day delivery.
  • Well, I followed the directions--I thought--but the photo didn't appear. I'll learn how and try again!
